Vitamin supplements are taken to maintain the required levels of vitamins in the body. Individual as well as multivitamin supplements are available today to ensure healthy body functions. Vitamin C supplements are the perfect aid to satisfy the adequate amounts of vitamin C in the body and can be used by anyone. Certain stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pyroli infection, tuberculosis, and dysentery are also cured by vitamin C supplements.

They are possibly effective for avoiding wrinkled skin, reducing the risk of certain cancers of breast and mouth, treating common cold, lowering high blood pressure, and reducing risk of gallbladder disease. However, the supplements should be taken only in right doses under the guidance of a healthcare specialist. Excessive intake of these supplements causes various side effects like kidney stones, severe diarrhea, and nausea.
