Tooth bonding is the procedure or an application for bonding the tooth with tooth-colored materials for the purpose of improving the appearance of a discolored, decayed, fractured or cracked teeth. It comes under the cosmetic dentistry for smile makeover to increase the persons self esteem. It uses material of type tooth-colored resin(plastic) material using adhesives and a high intensity curing light. Unlike veneers, tooth bonding is done in a single visit because it requires conventional bonding. Dentist will start bonding your teeth by selecting and matching the
material with the decayed tooth without any preparation.

There are two types of tooth bonding is there:

1)Direct composite bonding.
2)Adhesive bonding.

Teeth bonding is also used to repair decayed, chipped or cracked teeth, close spaces between the teeth, making teeth to look longer, change the shape of the teeth, to protect the portion of the tooth’s root that has been exposed when gums recede and used as alternative to amalgam fillings.
